What is SAP

SAP Business One is business management software (ERP) designed for small and medium-sized enterprises, sold by the German company SAP SE. As an ERP solution, it aims to automate key business functions in financials, operations, and human resources.

SAP B1 was built on and runs on Microsoft SQL server and now also runs on the SAP HANA in-memory platform. It can be deployed on-premises and in the cloud and can be accessed remotely via a mobile app.

SAP sells B1 primarily through a partner network, with about 700 value-added resellers in the network as of 2015. The partner network has also developed more than 500 industry-specific applications, according to SAP. The vendor claims to have more than 48,000 customers in 2015.

What many don’t realize is that SAP’s customer base is composed of 77% small businesses!  You can’t put a solution designed to run Exxon in a 30 person company and expect it to be affordable, efficient and successful.

That’s why SAP developed SAP Business One.  A solution built from the ground up for the needs of SMBs (Small & Mid-Sized Businesses).  They knew it had to be something that could be sold, installed, trained and supported by small teams in small businesses.

It needed to be extremely easy to use, while at the same time, ensure it had rock solid reliability and followed all the appropriate accounting rules (GAAP in the US), that would earn it the respect needed in the CPA community.

Trusted around the world, SAP Business One is a scalable, proven solution available on-premise and in the cloud powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). SAP Business One has the functionality to help you transform your business by leveraging information to maximize efficiency, reach new customers and drive profitable growth
